CNR launches training program for experts in marine and naval research and development
The deadline for the EurOcean's Member call is 16 November 2020.

The Institute of Marine Engineering of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) organizes, within the Trim Project (Technology and industrial research for marine mobility) a training for experts in research and development in the nautical and naval field. The selection process based on qualifications and interview was recently announced for the purpose of assigning 30 attendance places. The first 21 candidates in the ranking will be awarded a scholarship in the amount of € 16,200.00. The other 9 selected candidates will be admitted as listeners.

The program is divided into three objectives and is aimed at training experts in each areas:

  • structural lightening and new materials;
  • development of design techniques for improving efficiency;
  • development of new propulsion systems, emission control and noise and vibration management.

The course includes training activities carried out by university professors, researchers and/or experts in the sector (480 + 180 hours) and training internships at organizations and/or companies in the sector (540 hours) for a total of 1200 hours in 13 months, with start in December 2020. The training activity will be held online, given the COVID-19 emergency.

The selection is aimed at candidates who do not have had working experience with the research infrastructures involved in the project and who are in possession of the specific qualifications required by the call.
