MARINA presented how RRI is being apllied in different sectors
International audience discussed the benefits and the challenges of applying the innovative approach.

The H2020 MARINA Project organized an international conference on Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). The event took place in CNR’s headquarters in Rome, Italy between 25 and 26 September 2017.

Throughout the two days, an international audience discussed the results of various initiatives in which RRI is being applied to science, ethics and gender equality, global humanitarian and environmental challenges, education and open data, business and industry, and technology.

You can check the full programme here. The session dedicated to the application of RRI to marine sciences was chaired by EurOcean’s Science Officer/MARINA team member, Tiago Garcia. The accepted papers of the conference will now be published by Springer.

Looking into what follows; MARINA is already preparing the second round of local and international workshops. These will take place between January and March 2018 in many countries around Europe.
