Research infrastructures

Main=20 objectives:

Promoting the development of a fabric of = research=20 infrastructures of highest quality and = performance in=20 Europe and their optimum use on a European = scale

Activity areas:

1. Transnational access to major research=20 infrastructures for research teams and individual=20 researchers=20
2.1 Integrating activities combining cooperation = networks with transnational access and research = projects=20
2.2 Integrating activities including networking=20 activities only=20
3. Communication network development in = conjunction with=20 thematic priority 2 (Information Society = Technologies) to=20 establish a high-capacity and high-speed = communications=20 network for all researchers in Europe (G=C9ANT) and = specific=20 high performance Grids and test-beds (GRIDs).=20
4. Design studies: feasibility studies and = technical=20 preparatory work for new infrastructures with = European=20 dimension=20
5. Development of new infrastructures: = optimising of=20 European infrastructures by providing limited = support in=20 duly justified cases, alongside with other funding = agencies=20

Budget:

The indicative budget allocated to the Structuring = activity=20 Research infrastructures for the duration of FP6 is = EUR 655=20 million.
