Bringing the Ocean to Society

ESA World Ocean Circulation user consultation meeting
Are you interested in using the ocean currents data of the European Space Agency Globcurrent project? Then, this is for you.

The project has now come to an end, and the Globcurrent products (surface and 15m depth combined Ekman + Geostrophic currents) are now distributed in near-real time by the Copernicus Marine Environment Service (CMEMS).

Time has come to think about the next step, again in close link with the user community. In that context ESA is organising a “World Ocean Circulation” User Consultation meeting in ESRIN, Rome, Italy, on February, 21-22 2019.

The objectives of the meeting are to bring together expert scientists, service providers and direct users to present their detailed requirements for ocean circulation products and services.

Conclusions and user-stated requirements from this meeting will be used to define a roadmap for new initiatives on ocean circulation research and applications to be implemented in the ESA Earth Observation Science for society programme element.

If you are interested to contribute, abstract submission for the event is now open. All details can be found here.

Deadline for abstract submission is November, 30th 2018.
