Four categories of UVs have been identified as following: ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles), AUVs (Autonomous Underwater Vehicles), Manned Submersibles and others. Fifteen descriptors have been associated to each of the underwater vehicle. A friendly-user interface allows the end user to select the UVs according to: name of vehicle, country, type of vehicle and depth range.

If you are aware of any specifications or UV's which are not yet in this infobase, please either contact EurOcean or add the new record yourself. All new information will be activated by the Webmaster before being available on-line.
