Hot Off the Press: MARINAzine
Check out the first issue of the MARINA newsletter, the H2020 project that is implementing Responsible Research and Innovation across the European marine sphere.

As the MARINA project celebrates its first birthday, the timing could not be better to launch a new initiative. The 14 partner consortium has just released the first issue of the project's newsletter and you can access it at:

Every four months, MARINA will bring to you a newsletter dedicated to one of the six dimensions of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI):

  • Public engagement
  • Science education
  • Open science
  • Gender equality
  • Ethics
  • Governance

And to start things off, the inaugural issue is fully dedicated to how MARINA is improving the engagement of all society actors in the planning, funding, development and applicability of marine research:

  • Is there space for the Citizen in Research and Innovation, asks Xenia Schneider, XPRO Consulting
  • Elena Giusta from ISPRA analyses the benefits of public engagement in Research and Innovation
  • The industry perspective on wave energy in Ireland is presented by Eoin Nicholson from Smartbay
  • Real public engagement should be part of the Blue Growth Agenda - EurOcean’s Ned Dwyer and Xenia Schneider tell you why
  • Saša Reicevich and Francesca Ronchi from ISPRA reveal how the engagement of stakeholders can solve current marine challenges
  • Tiago Garcia from EurOcean interviewed the President of a very active Portuguese NGO who is already taking advantage of being involved in MARINA
  • RRI is for everyone and so we have Viktoria Brunner, a young activist from France, telling us about how to unlock hidden forms of knowledge
  • And to finish at the highest level, Iwona Gin form Nausicaa tells us how it was to be part of the UN Ocean Conference in New York City last June

What are you waiting for ?  Read all about it here
