The first edition of the Darwin Summer School will address the perturbation of the global carbon cycle, in the past, present and future. Main subjects will be ocean acidification and the carbon cycle, microbial ecology and biomarkers and terrestrial carbon cycling. Renowned scientists like Jaap Sinninghe Damsté, Jack Middelburg, Jelle Bijma, Henry Hooghiemstra and many others will provide you with the latest results in research on these subjects. This Summer School is all about interdisciplinary research: you are expected to work on the interface of biology, earth sciences, chemistry and physics.
For whom?
This Summer School aims at enthusiastic and motivated MSc students, and PhD students interested in a state-of-the-art introduction to the field of biogeosciences.
