EurOcean operates through networks and relies, as far as possible, on the competent structures existing at national and European levels in order to implement its work programme.
It is presently staffed with one Executive Director Telmo Carvalho and four Science Officers Sandra Sá, Cristina Costa, Sofia Cordeiro and Maica Garriga.

Previously, worked at the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology in the International Relations Department as a Science Manager in the fields of environmental and Marine Sciences. |

Sandra Sá (Science Officer) Email: sandra.sa@fct.mctes.pt Phone: (+351) 21 392 44 95 Sandra Sá is graduated in Biology and Geology and specialised in Marine and Coastal Zones Sciences. Mrs. Sandra Sá is responsible for the information management of the Internet Portal, namely, for marine infrastructures: research vessels in Europe, underwater research vehicles and large exchangeable instruments. Mrs Sá is also responsible for the public outreach area. |

Cristina Costa (Science Officer) Email: costa.cristina@fct.mctes.pt Phone: (+351) 21 392 44 97 Cristina Costa is graduated in Environmental Engineering and specialised in European Projects Management in particular those under the ERA-Net scheme. Ms. Cristina Costa is responsible for the information management of the Internet Portal, namely, for European Information. Ms Costa is also responsible for the EurOcean participation in FP7 Projects. |
| Sofia Cordeiro (Science Officer) Email: sofia.cordeiro@fct.mctes.pt Phone: (+351) 21 392 44 95 Sofia Cordeiro; is graduated in Applied Plant Biology and has a PhD in Physiology and Biochemistry obtained at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. Previously Sofia worked as Scientific Events Manager at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) in Madrid, Spain. At the EurOcean, she is responsible for the financial management of the Centre and for the organisation of scientific events in which the EurOcean is the main organiser. |

Maica Garriga (Science Officer) Email: maica.garriga@fct.mctes.pt Phone: (+351) 21 392 44 95 Maica Garriga is graduated in Marine Sciences at the University of Cadiz (UCA), Spain. She also holds an MSc in geo-information technologies for marine and coastal management from University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. Previously Maica worked as project officer for an EU Coordination Action – the European Network for Coastal Research (ENCORA). At EurOcean, Maica Garriga is currently involved in MarineTT, an EU FP7 funded project dealing with knowledge transfer. |
