Amundsen Science is the not-for-profit organization responsible for the management of the scientific mandate of the Canadian research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen. Amundsen Science maintains and operates the ship’s central pool of scientific equipment, coordinates the deployment of the icebreaker for science, provides technical support at sea for user programs, and manages data from the central science systems.

Job 1 

Amundsen Science is currently in the process of acquiring a light work-class FET Comanche Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to support innovative benthic studies, while a Kongsberg Hugin 1000 Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) has been recently procured in collaboration with the Takuvik Joint Laboratory. Amundsen Science is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Marine Robotics Professional to meet its operational and maintenance needs in ROV and AUV capacity. This position will bring you to work with a diversified and highly experienced team of Arctic technicians, professionals and researchers.

The Amundsen’s pool of specialized equipment includes 80 scientific systems and 22 on-board and portable laboratories that can accommodate the needs of physical, chemical and biological oceanographers, paleo-oceanographers, marine geologists and geomorphologists, marine ecologists, atmosphere and ocean colour specialists, and epidemiologists studying Inuit health. Amundsen Science is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Oceanographic Instrumentation Professional to meet its operational and maintenance needs for the ship's central pool of scientific equipment. This position will bring you to work with a highly experienced team of Arctic technicians, professionals and researchers.
