Bringing the Ocean to Society

Meet EurOcean during the 2019 European Maritime Day
Test our revamped databases, discover everything we do and meet our team in our stand at the EMD.

Europe’s largest ocean event starts tomorrow in Lisbon, EurOcean’s hometown. If you are one of the many attendees of the 2019 European Maritime Day celebrations, we invite you to visit our stand at the exhibition area.

EMD is one of the best networking opportunities on offer for the marine European community. Our team will be on-hand to tell you about our activity, products, services and Members. EurOcean is looking for innovative projects and service opportunities, as well as additional marine research, funding and outreach institutions willing to join us through membership. EMD will be a good time to get to know us better and outline future collaboration strategies.

Among many other possibilities, in our stand you will be able to test the brand new fully-revamped versions of EurOcean’s Marine Research Infrastructures Database (RID) and the Marine Knowledge Gate (KG).

EurOcean and its Founding/Hosting Member FCT are deeply involved in the All Atlantic Ocean initiative, which will also have a stand in EMD. If you are interested in sea-basin cooperation, we recommend you to attend the workshop Towards stronger cross-basin R&I collaboration on Thursday from 11:45 to 13:15.

We will also be co-convening the Friday’s workshop Gaps, barriers, solutions and & innovation Blue circular economy which emerges from the Aqua-Lit project. Five of our Members are part of its consortium, which is working hard to find solutions for the marine litter produced by the aquaculture industry.

Many other workshops in the programme have also been organised by EurOcean’s Members and Cooperating Members, namely Submariner Network, CESAM, FRCT, IOC (two workshops), and CPMR.

The spirit of EMD has no boundaries nor is constrained to a one-day event. EurOcean teamed-up with its Member IOPAN, Today We Have and various other partners to bring the I LIVE BY THE SEA 2019 Exhibition to the magnificent riverfront of Lisbon. Why don’t you pay a visit to this #EMDInMYCOuntry event while you are in town? It will stay in Praça Europa until 8th June, the World Oceans Day.

EurOcean’s wishes a great EMD and a fantastic stay in Lisbon to all the participants!
